Rotary vane pumps are available in oil-lubricated and dry-running designs. Claw and dry screw technologies use non-contact rotors with no sealing oil in the pumping chamber, while liquid-ring pumps use a service liquid.
Compare required pressure, flow, vapour loading, gas compatibility and total operating cost. Liquid-ring technology can suit wet processes; dry technologies need suitable protection from process carryover. No single technology is best for every application.
